Hi!
Today we've start a new work "Cartoon about Golden Rule".
To do this we've gotten into the platform of our High school( http://www.juntadeandalucia.es/averroes/centros-tic/21700381/helvia/sitio/) and we downloaded a document in which there was a page of a comic  of Calvin and Hobbes and the rule of Calvin's agrre: the ends justify the means.
We are desagree with this rule, of course, because one person can get the end that he/she want respecting others people.
After looking closely the comic, we've do some activities about this:
-Briefly summerize the cartoon strip.
-Explain the meaning of Hobbes' quote (the tiger) in the second to last drawing.
-What's the relationship between the cartoon story and the Golden Rule.
These are some that we did and we'll correct them next day.

In this class we were doing a few exercises on a book of The Human rights, which again had to pay we, the pupils. This provoked a discussion with our teacher, since the pupils we are tired of so much works and of paying so many photocopies ..., but ultimately I do not spend anything. The exercises about The Human rights were consisting in:
 1) To read the text (that was in English).
 2) To translate the texts.
 3) To do the exercises of the well-read chapter, which the teacher hung on the platform of the institute.
 Some pupils we ask our teacher him if we could listen to music, and for our surprise he said to us that not!, since this was doing that our performance was lower and not aprovechasemos the time the sufficient thing.

HELLO:)
Today was he last day of ethic's quarte, because the 15th of march the tutor gave us the notes of the evaluation.
 This class has been a little more relax, has had time to finish the work of philosopher, Socrates in our case, and talk about the quarter and a bit of everything.

Hola, este día la mayoría de la clase excepto dos o tres que o bien porque no podían o porque estaban malos, como Noemi, fueron de excursión a Huelva para visitar una universidad de derecho.
La sensación no fue demasiado buena porque en esta universidad, tan solo había 15 estudiantes y era bastante grande.

Gandhi: to deliver and to do the exam.(1-04-11)

In this class we had to deliver the exercises of Gandhi's book. The class was divided in two parts:
 1. Voluntary: to do Gandhi's exam, for those persons that want to raise the note. This was done at the start of the class, before the delivery of the book. The examination had several exercises, being some of them: Test, to choose the correct word, and your opinion about a topic (devoted to choose for the teacher).

2. Obligatory: in this part of the class, the whole world was forced to deliver Gandhi, though, since always, there was someone that did not bring it. Later Meganh says to us that we had to do a work about the philosophers. My group  were: J.A. Alcaide, Noemi, Pablo, Fee y Alba.R. and we had to do the work on Socrates.
 This work was consisting of making a presentation, in English, and later expose it in class. In the presentation we had to speak on the life, the epoch, the ethics, and the books of the corresponding philosopher, in our case, Sócrates.

Buenas, en este día Meghan nos ha introducido algo de los filósofos y nos han dicho, ella y Antonio, que íbamos a hacer un trabajo, teníamos que hacer grupos de 6 o así y elegir uno de los 5 filósofos que nos había dado a elegir.

Con esto de los grupos hubo un pequeño problema...solo había cinco filósofos y salían más de cinco grupos, entonces uno se tenía que distribuir  con los demás. He aquí cuando hubo una polémica, porque mi grupo estaba formado por nosotras dos y Fee, y habíamos elegido a Socrates, y el otro grupo que quedaba no tenía ninguno entonces nos dijeron que nosotras nos teníamos que repartir con los demás grupos y que ellos hicieran a este filósofo, entonces nosotras dijimos que porqué nosotras y no ellos...total que  cuando íbamos a ceder escuchamos un comentario de su grupo  que no nos gustó y terminaron cediendo ellos. Y al final  se vinieron algunos(Jose Antonio y Pablo Martín) de otro grupo al nuestro para que no fuera tan desequilibrado.
Antonio nos dijo que les iba a subir un poco la nota, y cuando terminó la clase fuimos  a hablar con él para que no nos bajara, y lo que había pasado, nos dijo que no nos iba a bajar pero a ellos les subiría un poco la nota.

La verdad es que todos los alumnos pensamos que tenemos demasiados trabajos por hacer, y que no podemos hacer mil trabajos de cada asignatura, por lo que creemos que si nos mandaran menos trabajos rendiríamos mejor y haríamos los trabajos mucho mejor.

En esta clase, sinceramente no hicimos muchas cosas, debido a la dicusión, pero el profesor nos dijo que no pasaba nada, ya que este libro lo ibamos a trabajar en clase y NUNCA en casa.

Hola!
Este día Belén, Claudia y Isabel Muñoz expusieron una noticia de un periódico, que era un trabajo "voluntario" lo cual quiere decir, que si no quieres hacerlo pues no pasa nada pero no puedes sacar mas de un 7 o así, pero también tienes la opción de hacer otro si este no te apetece por cualquier razón.
Uno de los temas tratados fue el del burka en Israel y un poco de la polémica que había, las mujeres de allí están obligadas a llevarlos pero ahora estaban trabajando en una nueva ley que permitiera no llevarlo a quien quisiera, como nos comentó nuestra compañera Maria Coronada que también lo hizo en su día. Se debatió si esto era una "costumbre" musulmana o lo llevaban por obligación incluso en otros países, como España en el que podemos ver aún muchas mujeres que lo llevan y aquí no están sometidas ha ello.
Isa, por ejemplo, nos habló de la central nuclear de Japón y de un depósito de residuos que se estaba construyendo, aquí se creó un debate un poco polémico ya que cada uno/a piensa una cosa de las centrales nucleares, si son buenas pero perjudican mucho, si no hacen falta, si estropea el medio ambiente...
Por último, Claudia nos ha comentado el tema de la Generación XXX, que parece ser que se piensa que estas generaciones de esta época pertenecen a ella, y nosotras creemos que no es así, aunque sabemos que hoy en día se sabe mucho de este tema e incluso se han hecho un estudio de la poblacióna dolescente y el n´mero de personas que ven porno, por ejemplo, es bastate elevado, pero pienso que como en todo, hay excepciones y no nos deben calificar con este nombre, ni decir que "estamos atrapado al sexo".

16-03-11. The Golden rule

" One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself".  This one is the rule of ALL, and is a rule that is over any religion, culture, moral, ethical ..., since this rule is not a rule, but a right: we have all right to being treated equally, without any racial, cultural distinction...
 During this class we were doing a few exercises in English (since the class was bilingual), some questions like: What is the Golden Rule?, Why do we have to respect the Golden Rule?...
La que más me me gusto fue la siguiente:
Is it necesary to belong to a religion in order to follow the Golden Rule?
Y nuestra resouesta es NO. Ya que no tienes que creer en un dios para respetar a los otros, que es el sentido de esta frase, porque pensamos que es un derecho el ser tratados todos por igual, pero esto es tan solo nuestra opinión.

Hoy algunos algunos de nuestra clase(4º A), han hecho una exposición sobre una noticia de un periódico que estuviera relacionada con la ética, nuestra asignatura. Si añaden una parte en inglés pues mejor, es un trabajo "voluntario", pero puedes hacer otros en vez de este, ya que no es obligatorio por ahora.

Una chica ha hablado sobre la guerra entre Libia y Egipto, sobre Gadafi. Otra ha hablado sobre el uso del burka en las mujeres y sobre una nueva ley que se está estableciendo respecto a esto, y por último, un chico nos ha comentado algo bastante interesante: "El primer auto trasplante de sangre de cordón umbilical en España". Nosotros le teníamos que hacer preguntas a los que fueran exponiendo las noticias, ya que esto les ayudaba  a subir la nota y a nosotros mismos, si las preguntas eran realmente buenas y hacían que ellos tuvieran que pensar bien la respuesta y desarrollarla.

International Women's Day ( 8 of march, 2011)

Hello!
This day Meghan give us a piece of peaper with a name of differents countries, and we read aloud. In this paper was written differents things about women of various places( their life, their works...).
Then we saw a power point which we treat the following topics: What is a International Women's Day?, How people celebrate it?, Simone (teaches us a bit of his life, his books and so on.), Whats is Existentialism?, Other famous existentialists, and finally we said some examples of the How can existentialist ideas be applied to feminism.

San Valentine´s Day or Day of the trade.

The St Valentine's Day or Day of the trade.
 It is already a custom, which on this day the pairs give themselves between yes flowers, chocolates ..., just for being the St Valentine's Day, though actually this is only an excuse in order that the market bandages million products (perfúmenes, felt, chocolates ...), because there are 365 days, often, 366, in which you can demonstrate your fondness and love to your pair, and not alone on February 14.
It was what we were doing in class. We answer to a few questions that our teacher raised to the platform of the institute, answering these, come aa conclusion from of that the trades take advantage this day to sell. But also we realized that this tradition is very antigüa. In 1840, one woman it began to write these traditional letters, to which it called "valentines".

 Este día, actualmente, no es el dia de los enamorados (ya que para demostrarle a tu pareja que la quieres no necesita un día especial, sino que puedes demostrarselo en el dia a dia) como tanta gente piensa, sino más bien, el dia del comercio, porque miles de millones de empresas y comercios venden productos que en realidad no tienen nada que ver con el amor, ¿es acaso un perfume una muestra de amor, cariño...? NO. Una prueba de amor es una caricia, un beso, un TE QUIERO, y, esas cosas no se compran con dinero.

Remember February

On 16th of February we had to a work of San Valentine´s Day, we´ve to work in pairs. This work was about the influence in the market in this day, if it mean that the people had to demostrate the love to his partner giving a present to him.
On 18th-23rd of February we was correcting the exercises of the first part of Gandhi´s book and we did the dialogues in pairs that we had prepared and then represent it in front of class. Another thing that we did to improve our English was to discuss with our partner on a topic related to ethics. For this, Meghan helped us to resolve the doubts.
The topic that Alba Soriano y Noemi did was the traveling to Dublín with the grand they gave us, Noemi isn´t agree with the criterion that they followed to select the students to go abroad. My friend, Alba, did the work with Claudia, and they spoke about the death penalty in the EEUU.  Other friends, spoke on the excessive quantity of money that the players of football were receiving, on the bullfights...

Remember the first quarter of 2010/11 academic year.

Primero, daros la bienvenida a este blog que hemos hecho Noemi y Alba. R.

Hace poco, nuestro profesor de Ética, nos dios esta "idea" (que en realidad resultó ser un trabajo obligatorio) de hacer un blog, en el que teníamos que contar, resumidamente, lo que hemos estado haciendo en el primer trimestre y lo que haremos en este, de ahora en adelante.

A lo largo del primer trimestre hemos hecho muchas cosas que nos han servido para  mejorar nuestro inglés, reflexionar sobre debates realizados,sobre muchos temas diferentes y de actualidad.

A principios, vimos un tema un poco difícil sobre el que opinar llamado "La expulsión de los gitanos rumanos en Francia",por este tema ha habido una gran polémica entre los países europeos. Otro tema fue "La generación Bunker" que trata sobre lo que ha influido la tecnología en los jóvenes, hasta el punto que se encierran en una especie de "búnker"(en una habitación aislados de los demás), sin hacer nada y todo el día en Internet haciendo quién sabe qué, este trabajo lo hicimos a final del trimestre y lo corregimos ya en el segundo trimestre. Vimos también el tema de las "Elecciones al consejo escolar" con motivo de que en el instituto estaban teniendo lugar las elecciones para un representate del alumnado.
También hemos estado haciendo actividades en inglés, ya que somos un grupo bilingüe, en las cuales hemos hablado  sobre las horas que dedicamos al deporte, los derechos y obligaciones o deberes de los jóvenes , la extinción de algunos animales que están en peligro de desaparecer, como las ballenas, los pandas...Otro tema que hemos tratado ha sido el de las descargas de películas, música...en Internet , y de cómo afecta esto a los que su trabajo es ése.
Durante el segundo trimestre , el cual cursamos, hemos visto un capítulo de House(actividad en inglés) y después hemos realizado unos ejercicios sobre éste. Luego tuvimos que hacer un diálogo sobre un tema de debate relacionado con esta asignatura, en inglés, para exponerlo delante de toda la clase. El último día, hicimos un juego en el que Mega, la nativa, tenía que pensar en un filósofo y nosotros, mediante preguntas en inglés, teníamos que adivinar quién era, esto después de corregir las actividades de Gandhi, que ya le habíamos entregado al profesor para que viera que las teníamos hechas.
Al mismo tiempo, realizábamos trabajos voluntarios como "La huelga general, el Día de Andalucía..." y el trabajo del primer trimestre era el de hacer las actividades de Gandhi y leerse hasta el capitulo 6, en este trimestre tenemos que leernos hasta acabarlo.
